The public perception of who we are has been branded by Soros & Co. for a long time.
Recently I was asked a very simple question, "WHY haven't we fought back?" We have been trying, trust that! They have been fighting us on so many fronts that over the years we have had to choose which fires to put out first!
Have you ever wondered why they are after us?
Soros backed reformer groups believe in socialism — we are a "private run profession." There isn't much more than that in terms of a hardcore answer.
Our profession has been fighting to keep our heads above water for a long time. It's exhausting to be honest. The way I see it is that 10% of the bail profession do 90% of the work regarding "the fight." There are times we get a pat on the back or a "thank you for all you do," but it doesn't usually follow with, "how can I get involved?" I'm not saying this to admonish — I am saying this to encourage! We need more fighters!
The people that I know in this profession are strong, resilient, entrepreneurial, and committed to their businesses. Now it's time for you to take the leap and help us win.
The jobs that we do every day matter greatly in the American Justice system. We provide liberty to an accused person — we are the long arm of the law. Every day throughout the USA, accused persons are released to OUR CUSTODY. Think about that. It's a huge responsibility that we take on, knowingly and willingly. What other service-based profession is as vested in outcomes as we are? The answer is NONE.
We are the accountable piece of the criminal justice system that actually works. That's another reason they demean us and want us annihilated.
The "Secured Bail Profession" is a 24/7/365 job. We answer our phones for crying Moms on Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve, Mother's Day, and every other day in between. We go over and above to provide resources to families in need — whether that means assisting in drug rehabilitation placement, assisting in counseling programs, or simply being a true caring shoulder to lean on in a storm of emotion. We really are a very special group of humans.
Today I encourage all of you to get involved in your State Associations, volunteer, ask questions. Get involved in a NABA committee. The Board and members of NABA are at the ready to help in any way we can.
Remember your worth, remember your value. Lead with integrity.
Our jobs are not easy. Our jobs are INTEGRAL.
